Tracing the Footsteps of Longmen, Touching the Cultural Heritage of Tang Dynasty Stone Carvings
The Yi River flows gently, while the grottoes stand silent. As we stroll through the Longmen Grottoes, we pause to gaze upon the myriad Buddhist niches and statues carved into the cliff faces. The Northern Wei sculptures are refined and graceful, and the Lushan Great Buddha radiates composure and serenity; each chisel stroke and every carving bears the timeless craftsmanship of ancient artisans. Wandering along the stone‑carved corridors, we are moved by the unique power of this sculptural art, pausing to reflect and draw meaning from the passage of history.
Climb to the summit of Laojun Mountain and together behold the magnificent golden peak shrouded in the clouds.
Bidding farewell to the millennia-old cave temples, we set off for Mount Laojun the next day. The weather was delightfully overcast, with no clouds or mist to obscure the view, allowing both distant peaks and nearby landscapes to come into sharp focus. Our team hiked together at a steady pace, savoring the natural beauty along the way and drawing strength from one another. At the summit, the golden‑tipped Daoist monasteries stood amidst a sea of clouds, their gilded halls gleaming in the sunlight. Perched atop the mountains, we truly felt the grandeur of “traveling far to witness the fleeting splendor of this world, catching a glimpse of its glorious age.” Ascending high and gazing into the distance, we came to appreciate all the more the meaning of standing side by side, climbing toward the heights together.
A single cave holds a thousand years of cultural heritage; a single mountain embraces seas of clouds and the galaxy. On this team-building outing, we marveled together at the splendor of mountains and rivers, shedding our weariness; side by side, we scaled the heights, forging a united spirit. We gazed upon Longmen Grottoes, meeting millennia of history eye to eye; we climbed Laojun Mountain, taking in the grandeur of landscape and sky. Along this journey through mountains and waters, we walked forward as one. Looking ahead, with this same passion and harmony, we will continue to join hands and stride into a new chapter!
